  4. Most of the sequels are pretty huge with the exception
  5. of the original follow up.
  6. The second in the sequence is called Dune Messiah.
  7. They're all based on the planet Arrakis and follow the fortunes
  8. of Paul Atreides.
  9. Of course he becomes something else altogether in mind and body,
  10. a sort of power corrupts analogy.
  11. Arrakis is also transformed into a green and pleasant land.
  12. I ploughed through them all at a fair rate of knots when I
  13. first read Dune and didn't slow down until I reached Heretics of Dune
  14. (the 5th book).

  24. The sequels are all much lesser entities than Dune itself but I
  25. feel they're worth reading to hold on to some of that initial
  26. magic surrounding the Paul Atreides character.
